In 1989, Elaine left her home province of Saskatchewan to join her
family in the Ottawa region, where she later obtained a four year
Honours Bachelor from the University of Ottawa. She then worked in
politics for seven years before deciding to further her education.
During her Massage Therapy training at Career Canada College, Elaine
gained valuable experience as an intern at the OPTC. In August 2005,
she became a co-owner of the OPTC.
She has practised in a variety of multidisciplinary settings, including corporations, community centres, hospitals, palliative care residences, schools, sports competitions, and government offices. She has developed a practice that focuses on, but is not limited to: general well-being, TMJ (jaw) disorder, head, neck & shoulder dysfunction, deep tissue massage, scar tissue treatment, and myofascial release. She also obtained her Level 2 in Reiki and has taken several courses on the role of massage in TMJ dysfunction.
Elaine believes that providing excellent health care is best done with a collaborative team of health care professionals. She is active in the Ottawa Chapter of the Ontario Massage Therapists Association (OMTA) and participates in education and awareness programs for both her peers and the general public. She also donates time and energy towards various charitable organisations and events. Elaine is fluently bilingual in both of Canada’s official languages.

Stacey Ardiel, RMT graduated in 1999 from the 2200-hour massage therapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Newmarket, Ontario. It is there that she received her education of massage theory, anatomy, physiology and pathology. Upon becoming registered, Stacey began her career in the Windsor area. In 2000, she relocated to Ottawa and began working at the Ottawa Professional Therapy Centre. In August of 2005, Stacey became co-owner of the OPTC along with fellow Massage Therapist Elaine Côté.
Stacey strongly believes in continuing her education. Since becoming registered she has received specialized training in CranioSacral Therapy, treatment for TMJ Dysfunction, Structural Integration, Reiki and Hot Stone Massage. Over the course of her 10 year career Stacey has specialized in the treatment of headaches and upper body conditions which effect the shoulder, elbow and wrist. Stacey also enjoys educating the public and other health care professionals. She has attended and given numerous lectures and seminars regarding massage therapy and complementary health care.
Stacey thoroughly enjoys working as a Massage Therapist and through the use of Swedish massage techniques she has developed a practice that not only offers treatment for stress management but also treatment of specific syndromes and injuries. Utilizing a unique technique of incorporating deep tissue massage with relaxation Stacey offers a well rounded treatment to her patients. She also works in conjunction with her clientèle to decide on a treatment plan that best suits their individual needs.

Jessica Alguire, B.Sc., I.M.T.C., RMT
In 1998 Jessica moved to Ottawa to complete her B.Sc. in Human
Kinetics. For the next two and a half years she worked in a
physiotherapy centre as a Certified Kinesiologist. The more she
learned and worked with the human body, the more questions she wanted
answered and she decided to formally further her studies in the medical
field. In 2006, Jessica graduated from a 2500-hour Massage Therapy
program at Kiné Concept and started working at the OPTC.
Jessica’s curiosity about the human body continues to grow. She
has recently completed her diploma and certification at the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy.
Through this program she has received specialized training in muscle
energy techniques, myofascial release, pediatrics, visceral therapy,
cranial therapy and lymphatic therapy. Many of these techniques are
very gentle making them ideal for clients who are uncomfortable with
deep pressure.
Jessica believes in the importance of working in cooperation with the
client and their health care team, to help them achieve their health
care goals. During her treatments Jessica’s uses a unique variety
of techniques and keeps her focus on her client’s comfort. She
plans to actively continue furthering her education as this is a
benefit to both her and her clients.

Devon Lancaster, RMT
Devon was born in British Columbia and had the opportunity to live all
across Canada before settling in Ottawa, where she studied Massage
Therapy at Algonquin College. Since graduating in 2004, she has been
building a successful practice within the health community.
Devon believes that regular Massage Therapy is not only an excellent way to relieve stress, but that it also plays an important role in achieving and maintaining health, happiness, and a well-balanced life. She has experience in caring for persons with a wide variety of ailments, including chronic strain, postural adaptations and sports injuries.
Devon offers the highest quality of care by customizing her treatment and home care plans to suit each client’s individual needs. She believes Massage and Remedial exercise are key components in injury prevention & rehabilitation and is committed to educating her clients in this regard.

Monica Proscia, BA, RMT
Monica graduated in 2005 from the 2200 hour Massage Therapy program at
Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto, Ontario. Monica
began her career as a Massage Therapist in Brampton Ontario, where she
worked with a number of health care professionals in treating clients
for a variety of ailments ranging from stress management, repetitive
strain and sports injuries to a variety of pain management and
relaxation treatments.
In August 2008, Monica relocated to Ottawa where she began working for the Ottawa Professional Therapy Centre. She is excited to continue guiding people on the road to healthier bodies and pain free living through massage and remedial exercises. Monica strongly believes that Massage Therapy is an important tool which enables people to take control of their overall health and wellbeing.

Vicki Scott, B.H.Sc., RMT, Dip.Ac
Vicki began her career in health care as an RMT when she graduated from
Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2002. Since then she has
taken a 1300-hour diploma program in Acupuncture and Traditional
Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Ottawa School of Acupuncture and TCM. She
has been practicing acupuncture since 2004, and believes that the best
way to healing and recovery is through a balance of therapy including
massage, acupuncture and whole body reflection.
Vicki's drive for Health Education continues. She recently graduated
from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Health
Sciences. With a strong background of educational and clinical
experience, Vicki strives to deliver holistic healthcare combined with
health education to promote safe, effective and timely
recovery for all her clients.

Andrea Bartels, BA, R.N.C.P. is an Ottawa-based Registered Nutritional Consulting Practitioner with more than 10 years of experience in the field of nutrition. She completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Geography from Carleton University in 1996. With a special interest in
spatial patterns of disease, Andrea took every opportunity to study the
relationship between disease and lifestyle in specific geographic
areas. These studies motivated her further to study correlations
between nutrition and disease, so she moved to Toronto to attend the
Institute of Holistic Nutrition. In 1999, Andrea graduated with a
Diploma in Applied Holistic Nutrition, and returned to her hometown of
Ottawa to gain experience as a nutritional consultant.
Andrea has worked alongside chiropractors, homeopaths, massage therapists, medical doctors, pharmacists and biochemists within clinical and retail environments. After careful analysis of a client’s needs and lifestyle, she produces dietary modifications suited to his/her health goals. Andrea’s counselling experience includes, but is not limited to: digestive problems, yeast problems, weight management and allergies, as well as rheumatoid arthritis, pain and other inflammatory conditions. Andrea’s holistic nutrition philosophy includes an understanding that we are not just what we eat, but what we absorb. She emphasizes the importance of a clean diet and lifestyle which minimizes stressors and improves resistance to stressors in our daily lives.
Andrea shares her passion for nutrition and the environment with students enrolled at the Ottawa branch of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where she has been teaching curriculum courses since 2001. She also presents health and nutrition-related workshops regularly for both public and private institutions. Andrea enjoys learning and frequently attends professional seminars to stay on the cutting edge of the nutrition field.
