Instagram is rumored to be working on allowing users to like Instagram Stories. There was no such functionality before, and users could only reply to Stories that appeared in their direct messages. The ‘Like’ button is likely to feature on the main Stories page, with a separate interface showing the amount of likes and the individuals who post them. One user may be allowed to submit numerous likes on one Instagram Story, according to reports.
Instagram is working on the option to like a Story, according to noted developer Alessandro Paluzzi. According to WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, this feature is still in development and is not visible in the latest public beta. There’s no word on when this function will be offered to the general public, although developers are believed to be working on it.
Paluzzi posted a screenshot of a heart icon resting exactly next to the bottom text bar. Users will be able to like one Story many times in a future update, according to the developer, by clicking on it. According to WABetaInfo, the owner of the Instagram Story will not receive a private message about the reaction, but there is a chance that a list of all likes on a story will appear. However, because the feature is still under development, things might change before it is released, according to the article.
Also, if the likes are going to be displayed in a separate list, it’s unclear whether the likes will be visible after the 48-hour deadline has passed.
Instagram is also allegedly working on replacing the swipe-up motion for accessing links in Stories with stickers. Some users have reported receiving a message in the app informing them of the change, which will take effect on August 30.
