The 2021 Japanese Formula One Grand Prix has been canceled for the second year in a row because to the Covid-19 epidemic, according to race officials.

Following the postponement of Singapore’s October 1-3 night race, the event scheduled for the weekend of October 8-10 at the Suzuka circuit has been canceled.

“Following continued negotiations with the promoter and Japanese authorities, the Japanese government has decided to cancel the event this season due to the ongoing difficulties of the epidemic in Japan,” Formula One stated in a statement.

“Formula One is currently finalizing the details of the new calendar and will make an announcement in the coming weeks.”

Japan recently hosted the Olympic Games in Tokyo without any spectators, and the Paralympic Games, which will take place from August 24 to September 5, will be held in the same manner.
