The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next-gen version will be released in Q4 2022, according to developer CD Projekt Red (CDPR). CDPR had planned to offer the free upgrade in Q2 2022, however it was moved out to April without specifying a new date. Along with that April statement, CDPR stated that it will be taking over development of the upgrade from Saber Interactive.

Both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077’s next-gen improvements were initially scheduled for late 2021, but were later moved to 2022. The next-generation update for Cyberpunk 2077 arrived in February, bringing with it ray tracing functionality and speedier loading times.

CDPR hasn’t revealed much about The Witcher 3’s next-generation edition, however we do know there will be some free armor inspired by the Netflix series. Despite the delays, the company claims that the update isn’t stuck in development hell.
